What are we doing in Santa Cruz?

Well folks, it feels pretty anticlimactic really, to be back.  It also is really wonderful in other ways. We are enjoying the obvious conveniences like hot showers, a dishwasher, a laundry room, getting to pick our own favorite foods to eat.  Brian is enjoying using his tools to do all kinds of projects on the property. He has built Eila and himself a pull up bar, cleared up paths with the weed eater, chainsawed a few things, etc.

One fun thing we missed while away, was getting to offer hospitality.  Our first guests arrived the day after we did!  One of the other families in the DTS veered out of their way driving back to Texas, to stop to camp on our property.  Their kids had never seen redwood trees before so it was fun to get to host them.

Other things we are doing:  slowly trying to see friends, figuring out our homeschool routine, enjoying "Auntie Chicken" Brian's sister who lives here, and trying to sell S/V Nomad. Brian is working building with a friend. Megan is getting set up to do academic tutoring.  Through all of this, we want to maintain the new habits of thought, of faith, of relationships which we started  building over the past 5 months.  We also are asking ourselves, "What next?"  Is there somewhere else on the planet where our sailing skills, our family strengths and interests are being called to be used to tell people how very much Jesus loves them?  We shall see.
